Energy Audit Summary: December 9, 2008 (PDF format) Courthouse: In August 2010, we replaced the boiler, which had been in service since 1976. We replaced it with a new, 99% efficient boiler that is estimated to save us $5,783/year in avoided natural gas bills. We're also sealing and weatherizing our historic windows, a project that will both save energy and preserve the historic character of the Courthouse. By connecting our equipment to an automated control system, we are able to reduce unnecessary heating/cooling of empty rooms, and ensure that our equipment is running most efficiently. This is estimated to save $23,800/year in avoided electricity costs.
