Douglas County Noxious Weed Department is responsible for enforcing the Kansas Noxious Weed Law. Noxious Weed chemical can be purchased at 711 E 23rd Street in Lawrence, Kansas and are currently cost shared at a 25% discount. A limited number of rental pull-behind sprayers are available for landowners to assist in the control of Noxious Weeds. This department is directly responsible for the control of Noxious Weeds on all County owned and maintained right of way.

***Be Aware of Sensitive Crop Areas***

Chemical application is an important part of Noxious Weed Control program, care needs to be exercised to protect all types of crops. These crops include Row Crops, Organic Crops, Sensitive Crops and Range/Grassland. Douglas County encourages fall treatment whenever possible.
