Vehicle Tag Renewal Information
Vehicles currently registered in Kansas and due to renew registration need the following:
Renewal form sent out by State of Kansas, or current Kansas registration receipt or tag number and Vehicle Identification Number, and Proof of Insurance Written proof of liability insurance from insurance provider - proof must contain insurance company name, policy number, Vehicle Identification Number, year and make of vehicle, effective date and expiration date Payment: - Cash
- Checks accepted with picture ID (driver's license)
- MasterCard, Visa, or Discover (3.19% user fee)

Web-Tags - KS Online Vehicle Tag Renewals
To renew online, all of the following must be true:
- The vehicle is currently registered in Kansas.
- You have a Kansas Motor Vehicle registration renewal notice that contains a Personal Identification Number (PIN).
- Your address on the renewal notice is current.
- The vehicle is currently insured by a participating insurance company.
- You have a valid VISA, MasterCard, or Discover Card (American Express and debit cards are not accepted).
In addition, motorists may renew their vehicle registration using a touch-tone telephone by calling: 1-866-4KS-TAGS (457-8247) up to 2 days prior to the expiration date of the registration.
